Need Help With SR

Hi there. I'm new to SR. 19 days sober and living in a county funded rehab house. I'm an educated, loving, compassionate young 54 year old divorced (14 years ago) mother of 3 young adults who juggled all the balls and pulled rabbits out of hats until a year or so ago when life came at me like a Mack truck. 3 kids at challenging ages, menopause and a career change simultaneously seemed more than I could handle. I began binge drinking to punish myself for my perceived failures. With no familial support, my life spiraled rapidly from top of the food chain to a homeless shelter and now an old house in the sticks that poses as a rehab just enough to get county funding. There's programming or support, so I'm on my phone trying to find support here at SR on my own. Please help meas I navigate my way to recovery. I'm already very spiritual and trying to see this as a life lesson I'm meant to transcend for better understanding. Thank you for any encouragement and support you might lend. And believe me...trying to do this on my phone isa spiritual challenge in and of itself!

I meant to say NO programming or support system. The place is an old house in the sticks with no access to transportation, meetigs of any kind, etc.. the other 7 girls here are all much younger culturally diverse drug addicts court mandated to be here in order to get their kids back or stay out of prison. Less than ideal dynamics for me but I'm hanging in there. I don't even have money for toiletries, so it's very humbling to an already empathic and humbled soul. Again...any help on this site would be greatly appreciated. You seem to be my only avenue for help in doing this alone. Many thanks.

((lostinthedesert)) - Welcome to SR! I admire you for navigating here on your phone - I've done it, but me and the autocorrect don't get along However, it's nice to be able to have SR on hand.

Congratulations on 19 days!

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Welcome, and I'm glad you're hanging in there and working at your recovery. By the way, I can relate to drinking to punish yourself for perceived failures. I did that, too.

Welcome. I am in the November group, andthere is a 30 days and under, i think(though I stick to November). There are several women on midlife there, as well asmany great supportive people. Check it out.

I am on day 3, after lapsing on Thanksgiving. I had 8 days before that, after a year or longer replapse. I had been sober for 4 months when I first joined here. You can see that date by my name.

Welcome to the family lost. You aren't alone anymore - you have us.

I was drinking all day, every day when I found SR. I couldn't imagine finding the courage or inspiration to quit - but these people got me back on my feet and I've never looked back. I'm sure you'll find the warmth and support to be invaluable.

Glad you found us - things will get better. You crashed and burned, but you will rise again. Keep talking to us.

Welcome to our family Lost.

I hope you continue to share with us here.

Well done and way to go on 19 days. That is amazing. Are you feeling better?

I also beat myself up for perceived failures and drank over them too.
I am sure I still fail at lots of things now, like stopping my daughter scribble on the carpet with pen today, but at least I am not a drunken failure anymore!

Happy to have you here xx
