Day 4, I think the withdrawls are finally done!!

I woke up this morning not feeling horrible. Granted I was drenched in sweat yet again but I feel soo much better. The headache, chills, hot flashes, extreme exhaustion and profuse sweating have finally subsided. I think last night might be my last night of night sweats but at least it's not as severe and it's no longer all day long. Man, that was rough and I really never want to go through that again.

I was able to get up, make lunch for me and my roommate, make coffee and another pot for her, left early and got to work on time. Seeing the sun come up, listening to music and just appreciating not feeling horrible. I'm starting to feel good.

Now that that chapter is over I'm going to have to make sure that I get the support system I need so I don't go back.

Thanks to everyone who read. My thoughts go out to anyone going through this. It's hard but worth it!

Janis, I remember that moment in my life, too!

Good for you for getting through that.

Thanks! I decided to write them down to remember them when I want a drink. That was horrible. I appreciate all the well wishes and am looking forward to moving on from that. Phew! I know the battle has just begun but dragging myself out of that was not comfortable.

That just made my day Janis, it keeps getting better and better. You will have to deal with things, sometimes negative things, but you will with a sober mind.

Dealing with life is actually not as hard as it was when drunk. LOL!

So glad you're feeling better. Day 4 was the turning point for me, too. I know what you mean when you say you're "just appreciating not feeling horrible!"

Congrats on getting that behind you. It only gets better from here!

So happy for you, Janis. This can be the beginning of a whole new way of life. You never need to go through that hell again.
