Still sober after five months.
Still sober after five months.
I haven't visited here for a month or so, so I thought I would check in and say hello. I am still clean and dry and, in fact, seldom give alcohol any thought at all unless something calls it to my attention. I feel good, I'm healthy and am working out at least an hour a day.
I recently returned from a trip to Scotland where I had a great, and sober, time. I had an opportunity to visit with friends and relatives, I climbed Ben Nevis and had a chance to see some truly lovely country. The Scots are wonderful people; helpful and welcoming and polite. My only difficulties there were: making myself understood, they have an accent, not me; and driving on the left.
My wife and I were traveling with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. We often had dinner in the nearest pub; I never was tempted to have something to drink and felt good about that.

Congratulations!! Good to hear! Must feel really good to go on your amazing trip and come home and remember all of it too, right?! I used to travel and when I drank, I had fotos to show for it, but somehow the memories...not so clear, lol. Congratulations again! Thanks for the update!!
