So the landlord has released me from the lease to the apt I shared with xagf. He will not release xagf from lease since she has a job that should make good $ but doesn't because she doesn't work a lot. She drinks instead. Am I under any obligation to keep paying my share of rent? Could xagf sue me for my share of rent even though landlord let me out of lease since we signed lease together?

Did you get anything in writing from the landlord stating that you are released from any further obligation? If not, get it.
