Well all I can do is laugh
And this will be a funny story when I do make it to my first meeting. I was out the door with 20 minutes to spare so I could get there early and meet some people. I hop in the truck and the steering wheel lock isn't working.
You see, last friday night I came home from a neighbors house so drunk and stoned that I couldn't get my keys to work in the front door lock. After about 30-45 seconds of fumbling the door opens and theres the wife with a disgusted look on her face.
I came in and made a beline to the couch and thats the last I remember having my keys and I haven't been able to find them. My spare set of truck/house keys has an old steering wheel lock on it.
I have been tearing apart the living room with no luck, called the wife first thing to ask for a little mental assistance on what exactly I did that night and heard her dog barking ring tone from the bathroom, she's off for the day and forgot her phone.
Worst case scenario is I have to cut the lock off, I don't have a grinding wheel for my angle grinder though. And the meeting is half over and a 15 minute drive away. If anything I'll have the wifes truck tomorrow for the 11 a.m.
I swear to the good lord I was nervous but was actually excited to go. I grabed a wad of cash for a donation and purchase of the big book and everything.
I have been listening to AA tapes all yesterday and enjoy the funny stories some have to tell, hopefully some time in the future I will be at the podium telling this one.

Seems to keep getting better, While browsing the Dallas Intergroup Association for more meeting locations I found one litteraly down the street from me. Won't even have to get on the freeway, they have meetings scheduled for m-f 6 p.m. Think I'll hit that one for week nights then check out others on weekends.
You know what, I got a Barnes and Nobel Nook for Christmas and I checked last night and can download it for like 5 bucks. I was thinking I'd like to have it in both forms anyway.
I also have a copy on my phone. Since my phone is always with me it's real handy.
