THIS felt good!

I was having a routine test done as part of a physical yesterday and was asked, "Do you have three or more alcoholic drinks a day?"

My answer: "No alcohol."

Felt pretty good to be able to say that without it being a big fat lie.

Me too! I had my blood drawn yesterday for a check up exam coming up soon. I can't wait to see the results. I can't wait to tell my doc I quit.

My physical came out better than I'd expected. Only thing is I'm low on vitamin D so they want me to take a supplement. My appetite was not improving as much as they'd hoped and it was determined that could be related to my clinical depression so they added another med that specifically targets the part of your brain that triggers appetite; now I'm eating better too.

Win!

I heard a lot of people are low on Vit D. I myself have been tired lately and began taking it again - I take Vit D with calcium, my doc recommended it. I wish I had the appetite problem, since I quit I've been eating like a pig. I've really had to curtail the sweets. Awesome flaming about your doc experience!

I remember being able to say that for the first time without lying. What a great feeling.

I know; isn't it great?

What about driving and a cop is right behind you, and you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about - straight as an arrow, have insurance, have license, no open containers or drug paraphenalia in car, just doing what I'm doing....

Now THAT'S FREEDOM!!!

I was completing a health and body assessment at my gym. My trainer asked, "do you smoke or drink?" replying "no" to both (and telling the truth) felt so good! Hell, I used to lie to my doctor about my "social drinker" status. Sometimes it's the mundane, every day things we don't think about that makes sobriety worth the fight.
