Ive been sober 9 days now and I can't say enough how much this forum has helped! Today after work it was beautiful weather, and I was desperate for a drink. But checking the site first really helps keep me on track. Feel so much better already.
It hard not to listen to your mind and body telling you it will be great to just have one drink; but I know this would only end badly, and so we must keep trucking.

Hey hey London! Yeah, it's beautiful here this week. Much nicer in Brighton, obviously, but it's not your fault you're in the big smoke
Well done on 9 days girl, that's amazing. And that's...you've done 2 weekends, right? Nice. Keep 'em coming

Yeah, it's getting tough when the weather's nice out. My current route home goes by a ton of pubs with patio seating and seeing people outside enjoying happy hour specials is brutal! This is the first site I log onto when I get home from work.
Still I rise.

I felt the same urge with the sun out today, Sarah!
Congrats on day 9; I'm one day behind you--let's beat this!
I have to agree that reading this forum has been of immeasurable help.
Thanks, everyone!

Good for you on nine days!
I do the exact same thing you do- think that first drink through to the end. It's kept me sober, along with this site, for over two years.
You can do it too!
Best to you, and ingnore those pubs.

If, when you listen to your mind and body, you hear a call for a drink, you are hearing the loudmouth who always talks over everyone. Take a deep breath, slowly let it out, and quietly listen again.
