Hey hey... I'm back :)
And I did it! I busted out and got my own house to rent for me, the kids and our dog. I really thought it would be so scary, sad and hard... But it wasn't, at all. It felt right and I let go of my need to micromanage... And that alone made the whole process so smooth and enjoyable.
We have been in the house almost a week no, and we are all so much more calm and happy
Life is amazing. The new job is incredible. Everyone is so healthy and supportive.
I love my new life, and the woman I have become
Anyone out there who is scared and unsure... Please, read my old posts. I was where you are. I felt so trapped and hopeless. I had lost my strength and self-confidence. But with the helpnod al-anon, SR, and melody beattie...

Yay! So happy for you and your kids! I wondered where you were. I've been away for a while too so I thought maybe I just was missing where you were!
Reading your post actually has me thinking that I might be far better off getting out of my current house. Being there has begun to feel like I am tied to the past and I have been thinking about exploring options nearby.

CONGRATULATIONS! You and I must have moved at the same time however, we are not "living" there yet we are with my parents until our beds and washer and dryer arrive, but otherwise, all of our other things are moved in. CONGRATS again! GOOD LUCK to you. I am going to go back and read your posts and learn your story.

Your posting goes to show that change is possible... and it may take awhile right?! You've been a member here since 2005 and although I don't know your whole story, it seems you've been through the ringer several times and now, finally, you are in a good place (a VERY good place) and seem to be truly happy. Yay!!!
I say to those who are just new to this board (heck, even a year or few), that each of us has our TIME and PLACE to make changes in our lives. Shannon (Gettingby) is a great (and inspiring) example of this and I feel encouraged and energized to know that my recovery is not on a time limit and may have some setbacks, but it's okay.
