Thumbs up Day 5!!!!!

Today I celebrate my fifth day without a glass of wine!!! I have to admit that yesterday was a tough day!! Very anxious and a little down. I do admit that I love waking up feeling clear headed and without regrets!! I still need to submit my story but will need at least a week to write!! After you read it you will agree with me that it could be made into a Lifetime Movie!! Lol! I would also love some suggestions on what to drink when i go out to eat. I have some dinners coming up and want to be prepared! Thank you! Lind

Congrats on you days

Keep on coming and posting. And keep reading as many of us will relate to your story, I also would of been a movie but much harder rated then lifetime. Pay per view would be more suitable. LOL.

Look forward to your posts.

Good love, Inda

Good going on 5 days! Keep it up, it only gets easier.

As for what to drink, drink what you want to. I usualy drink water. Just don't order wine

Remember, recovery is in your hands and you're responcible for staying with it. Unless you're a praying person, in that case I would ask for guidance.

I've never felt pressure to drink while out. It's nobodiys business what you drink. All my friends knew I was a drunk, anyway, so they were glad to see the change.

Best to you at your dinners, and keep it up!

Well done on 5 days. It took me a while to work out and feel comfortable with but when you go out drink when you are thirsty. There is no only one reason the drink so much when we go out, and that is to the toxic effect of consuming of alcohol.

Good job Lind! "Waking up feeling clear headed and without regrets" is great motivation to keep headed down the path of sobriety.

As far as what to drink at dinners, I usually get an iced tea or an Arnie Palmer.

Congratulations on your 5 days!! Yes, those hangover-free mornings are nice, aren't they?!

When I have to go to an evening event or dinner out, I like drinking club soda or tonic with a little fruit juice (cranberry, grapefruit) and a twist of lime. It's quite refreshing.

Congrats on 5 days Lind.
The first week is the hardest as far as I am concerned so you are well on your way.
When I go out for dinner or whatever I always have diet coke where before I always had beer but I am boring and predictable anyways.
Just order whatever non alcoholic drink you feel for. Nobody will even notice anyways.

Well done on day 5 without the wine!!!! I am day 21 and no cravings anymore.

Maybe try soda and lime? A fizzy drink makes me feel like I am having a real drink

Keep going, you are doing great!
