Back from my sabbatical
I've been gone for a while. After my son's incident with being pistol whipped and shot at, surgery and hospitals...... I just needed a break from all things "addiction" related. I kept going to my meetings (having a total melt down in one). After a short stay in our home (and yes--I let him back in during his recooperation), he is now living with a friend of his who is a good influence. We had some rough patches through this process--more letting go on my part--we survived. And time shall reveal more.
In the meantime, we (dear husband and I) did something for ourselves that our son wasn't particularly happy about......(ask me if I care)......we installed a state of the art security system. I have control of my environment. I feel safe and secure.
We also took a nice long trip to Central America where my brain can shut off and become still.....what a strange feeling that is! No phones. No TV. No internet. Just nature and warmth. It was a much needed break from the techno world and allowed me to reconnect to my HP in a very deep and meaningful way.
During this time, I needed to use all of my resources for myself and had nothing to offer or share with all of you. But I'm back to share my experience, strength and hope.......because I do feel that I have a lot of experience (good, bad, and ugly), strength (that needs to be replenished from time to time), and I will always have hope.
As always, you have all been in my prayers.

I am so glad that you found time just for you after all you have been through. And congratulations on the new alarm system, codies should get a discount I think.
I'm glad your son is doing well and I keep him in my prayers. I am even gladder (love that word) that you are doing well too.
