Does the energy come back?

Am a semi heavy drinker( 10 drinks a night beer + Liquor), sober now over 2 weeks.

Been using all the energy supplements(pills and drinks) to get through the work day. Now I'm feeling better, will I get back all the natural energy that I've lost?

Thanx.

Welcome!

Yeah, the energy will return....it just takes awhile. Give it some time. When we first stop our bodies use all of our energy to heal. I was very, very tired then all of a sudden I had more energy than when I was drinking. Congratulations on your two weeks!

I've been sober for two months, and my energy has definitely returned. I am sleeping less than I did when I was drinking, and am waking up feeling rested. I still have a cup of coffee in the morning and a cup or two of hot tea in the evening, but other than that, I don't need any "pick me ups".

Hello! I thought I would never stop wanting to sleep the first couple of months I stopped drinking. I posted here about it and the healing part of the equation never occurred to me. I had done damage that I needed to come back from hence the sleep!

Hope you are drinking lots of water with the supplements as sometimes they can be hard on the body too. Take care!!!

Still here.

I'm just not going to drink. This time I have extra incentive.

A baby Girl. My First. 6 months old and I don't want her to know me like that.
