New Here

Hi.. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am struggling with my son's alcoholism. I thought this might be a good place to come when things get unbearable. He is grown, and not living with me. The pain of this disease is almost so painful.

Mandy, welcome, so sorry you have to be here but this is a great place to vent, share, or just get a prop up or a hug when you are down.

Welcome to the SR family!

Please make yourself at home by reading and posting as much as needed. A good place to start reading is in the stickies. The stickies are older permanent posts at the top of the forum page.

I am always finding wisdom in those posts.

Please let us know how we can help support you. We care.

Welcome!! Just wanted to let you know my mom has been SOOOO important in my steps toward recovery! She is my rock and we live very far apart. I know how much it hurts her to know I'm struggling, but without her love and support I don't know what I would do. I'm in the early stages of addiction and recovery and I think my case is relatively minimal (but still a huge issue) I hope you and your son's relationship survives the mess of alcoholism! I don't like hearing what my mom has to say sometimes, but most of the time I know it's because she's right!

MandyJ,

There is a sticky from Catspajamas that has some basic directions for posters that may be a help to you.

Take care,

Bill
