My One Month
I made it to my one month sober and I'm happy. Since I quit drinking I've improved a few areas of my life, but there is always more to improve but that will come with time.
Some how I managed to stay sober through the loss of my job and the subsequent "healing" process where I had to (and still am) accept the fact that I'm not working.
I'm a very strong willed person and I think going for a few mile walks every day has been helping me and a few pieces of good news here and there. Things will work out in time and I'll be on my feet again and it's this positivity that has encouraged me to keep my head up and focused.
I would like to take this time to say that anyone going through a hard time and drinking over it (or relapsing), it solves nothing. Alcohol has never solved nothing, only created many problems in which you'll have to eventually deal with. With a sober head on your shoulders, you're able to solve problems that have existed or are about to come up.
SR has been the only support group that I've been calling on for help and also helping others when I can. I have no real support outside this forum and that tells me a whole lot about how powerful this community is here at SR .

they are the key words for me. I have been putting of the inevitable for a long time but no more. Things are going to get easier for me now I believe. I also believe the closer I get to who I want to be with make me a much nicer, better , caring person and giving up the drink is a crucial part of that process. I truly , truly believe that once I have achieved a few months sobriety I will be so unbelievably happy and proud of myself. I already feel that at only 11 days!! Good luck with your journey Gerbosko, one month is fantastic xx
