So I've had bad anxiety since I stopped drinking. I keep a journal of my day to day things I go though. I started to see that the days I had bad anxiety, something was causing it.

See I have these 2 lumps on the left side of my neck and 1 on my upper/middle chest. I've had all of them for about 6 years or so. When I was drinking I never paid them any mind, but now being sober I found myself scared and always worrying.

So I finally see a doctor today. They rub my lumps, do an EKG and take Xrays of my chest. Nothing out of the ordinary. Heart is perfectly healthy, and the lumps are a thing called Lipoma. Which is a overgrowth of fatty tissue. (Non Cancerous) I sat around so long worrying about this. All I needed was a quick check up and I feel so relived and calmer now.

I pretty much ignored my physical health for a few years when I was drinking, and then in early recovery, I started worrying about everything.

Good for you for taking care of yourself.

Glad everything's ok!! Yeah... drinking and smoking pretty much made me a hypochondriac... I actually still wonder how my health is. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks and I think after that (depending on the news) I'll feel better. I get so angry at myself because I spend my days worrying which is worse than getting it checked out!! Glad you went to the doc and that all is well!

My hubby has one of those too! Scared the ___ outta him. Glad you got them checked! . Gotta take care of ourselves.
