Hi guys I'm so happy that I found a forum that would help me in my addiction.

My counselor advised me to look for forums that could help me with my problem and ask help from others in the forums since I'm scared to speak up in the actual AA meetings. I'm a programmer and I am more comfortable with computers than people.

Hi greste! So happy you are here with us. This place saved me. I know what you mean about reaching out - for some of us it's difficult. Yet SR took a huge burden off me and I no longer was alone in my private hell.

Be proud of yourself for wanting a new and better life. You can do this!

Welcome to SR.

Along with this site some recovery tools can help too. SMART Recovery has those. Maybe add them to your treatment plan .

Welcome greste21! SR is a good place to get information and to learn how others are handling their alcohol/drug problems. Keep reading and ask questions if you have any.

Welcome to the family. I gave up drinking 17 months ago and haven't felt this good in a long time.

Welcome! You don't have to talk in AA meetings, just listen. I've seen huys come for several months and not talk, eventually they usually do.

Welcome! Reach out in any way that can help. I agree with Zebra....you don't have to start out talking....just listen. Open mind - and believe it can be!
