Thanks for this article! Very disturbing. My exabf got very verbally abusive and threw and smashed things when drunk. The bf before that was verbally abusive, and I was told during a phone conference with expert Pat Evans that I should leave before it turned physical.
I wonder what is responsible for all these men being so violent?

Thank you. It is excellent.
I'm pondering so much in my mind right now -- so much that I want to do once I've gotten through what I need to get through. I need to be able to use my experiences of the judicial system to make it better for other women in abusive relationships. Because there are gaps where people fall through. And as long as there are gaps and we see perps walk away with a slap on the wrist, we'll be less likely to report them the next time.

I'd recommend a book called "Why Does He Do That?" by Lundy Bancroft.
We have a book study on it in this forum, as well:

LaTeeDa,
Thank you for posting that link.
Reading it also makes me so grateful that I got out when I did.
