Im on day six now

Well, im on day six. After drinking every night for about 20 years or so.It was a little hard the first couple days and I thought that I would have withdraws and that made me nervous. When im nervous i want a drink but I didnt. Currently I have no symptoms except alot more energy an the loss of 8 pounds.Ive been reading the struggles people here are having and my heart goes out to all of you! What seemed to work for me is staying busy.Try to do something that you think you cant and challenge yourself..Try to build your own web page.Dont know how? google it and do it! Do anything to keep your mind busy and you will be amazed at what you can do with a clear head..Flatsix

Congratulations Flatsix. I'm on Day 10 and you're right. Stay busy or stay asleep. Sort of the same for me right now. Man am I sleeping. You?

Congratulations Flatsix. It is so inspiring to hear good news. It keeps us focused in knowing it CAN be done.
You're right...stay busy. People struggle with this early on because their thoughts and actions are based on alcohol but boy, have I found alot of things that I can do since sober.
Yesterday I rearranged the TV cabinet. Who would have thunk I had so many movies?! Now if I could just learn how to work the playstation to watch them. LOL I knew my kids were good for something...!

Way to go! I actually did make my own website for my art a couple months after getting sober - (!) It was something I had put off for years and it was fun learning how.........

Congratulations on day six - it just gets better!
