The rainbow after the rain...
After 30 years of on and off drinking and (finally) quitting because I lost my job and life hit me upside the head with a 2x4 --I have successfully completed my 6 wk rehab treatment and immediately signed up to go to After Care every week.
I was actually kind of sad tonight...I really enjoyed going. I take my responsibilities very seriously and had embedded rehab into my life.
My counselors were pleasantly surprised that I gave them both a plaque reading "Live one day at a time". We had talked one night about having positive quotes in our life to stay on the sober side. Negative thoughts come easy -its the good thoughts that need provoking from our heads.
I also have a plaque on my table I refer to often -its just a gentle reminder! And it works.
So here I am...60 days sober and ready to start my new life one day at a time...!
Oh and I have an AA meeting Thursday night!
