dead end
It's hard to stop, but I think it's even harder to get back on the horse after some time off VC...but you need to try again....maybe you need to widen your support base?

I agree, don't look at the mistake, slip or whatever you call it....accept it and learn from it...remember how terrible it felt and go for the sobriety route.
i can only tell you that it works for me...i do not like the person i am when i drink to excess, and i always do, not just one or two...
drinnk lots of fluids today and get back on track in whatever way you do it...keep posting.

VC,
I try to remember how horrible I felt after my last binge. I felt bad for 3 days. I never want to feel like that again. And if I don't drink, I won't. You can stop this behavior. Use whatever you can for support.

VC, when you said "I'm a bad human" it made me smile and want to give you a big hug! It reminded me of how my little dog Zippy looks at me after he's gotten into the trash! He knits his little eyebrows and looks at me like "I'm sorry Mom, I know I'm not suppose to do that, but I just couldn't resist that tasty treat, it smelled sooo good...I'm a bad dog, hu Mom"? Naaawwh...and there is way more hope for you than my pup! :ghug3

I tried and failed a lot too VC. I think most of us have. I think you just gotta keep adjusting/adding to your plan til you get the right combo. You want to, right?

You don't have to be sorry to us, that's not what this forum is about. Yes, quitting drinking is hard, there's a lot more to it than just being 'abstinent'. I was one of those people who thought I could just quit drinking whenever I wanted... and soon found out it was a lot more involved than that. It took many attempts to get on the right track.
You are going through some upheavals at the moment, maybe it is time to start looking at some extra support, making some time for you and your welfare as this pattern doesn't seem to be making you happy. Please VC if you need some immediate help, don't hesitate, because no matter what it is, it will pass - pls take care.
