Hi everyone!
Hi everyone!
Came across the website today thought I'd join. I'm 3yrs and 9 months clean and sober and loving each day given to me. I hit my wall er...embankment 4/22/07 when I rolled my truck 3 times. I was returning from band rehearsal and a birthday celebration. My drug of choice was pot, but my alcohol consumption was becoming just as bad. Took EMS 1/2 hour hour to cut me out of my truck. I was extremely lucky to be given a second chance.
I smoked on a daily basis for 15+ yrs. My job somewhat was conducive to using. I was a tv cameraman for a couple of local stations and most everyone around me smoked pot. I was a functioning dope smoker and alcoholic. Then that all stopped. I'm glad it did. Since then, I have returned to college and I just graduated with my bachelors in criminology. I am currently in graduate school working towards a masters in counseling and hope one day soon to be working as a substance abuse counselor.
I look forward to learning much from everyone here and hope to help someone along the way.

Welcome Diggity, and thanks for joining us! Trust me, you'll help people just by being here.
Congrats on your 3+ years! I'm sure you have lots of experience and knowledge to share, and I'm thankful for that. I think it's quite admirable that you've gone back to school and are looking to help others dealing with substance abuse problems. We certainly need as much help as we can get in that field.
