The Infinite's Little Rag Doll .... or throw toy...

I don't usually post over here
but this is about my recent ...
re-establishment of a friendship
with an addict.

She was in recovery when I met her.
She was present at my own twelvth step.
I looked up to her
and her recovery
although I didn't 'get into' her lifestyle
I still respected her opinion.

She relapsed about a year ago
and has been in and out
trying to stay clean.

Now I've got a couple of classes with her
and the last class we had
she couldn't sit still.
I'm talking it was wiggle city.

I couldn't help but wonder
if she'd used
while her husband and son
were out of town working.

I don't wnat to fall for those thoughts
and want to see what is ACTUALLY infront of me
and not lookinthrough
the shaded glass of past experience.

I'm going to be visiting over here more often this semester
to glean ES&H
in keeping this friendship open
without hurting my own school experience
and grades.

She did a lot for me in early recovery
I want to be available to do as much for her.

Yes. I don't 'have a plan' or anything.

it just is ... what it is.

but I'll be over here a lot more than usual
I've kind of gotten out of that awareness.

your gut doesn't lie, Barb.

We know classroom seats are uncomfortable, right? LOL
Me, I am in the habit of trying to make excuses to not see what I see..I am getting much better at that and not dismissing myself and my concerns.

Nothing you can do about it really, either way.

How about eyes in front on the lecture? ROFLMAO
I always placed myself in the front row..it helps.
I really, really did. and it did keep me from being distracted by anything.
Classroom time is for class.
