Cool And now it starts....

Well, I think I have started ok. 26 hours without a drink and about to take sleeping meds. No booze around and stores are closed. Shaking is gone. After a couple of months of drinking a full bottle a night.

Good for you, dazed! That first day seemed soooo long (and just felt weird), but each day got a little bit better. I think you'll start to really enjoy waking up in the morning without a hangover - I know I did. Sweet Dreams!!!

The first few days can be rough, but if you stay sober you'll never have to go thru them again.

i'm glad for you...those 26 hours are long and you WILL begin to feel better, sleep will become restful and restorative as it should be.

treat yourself gently as you are recovering from an assault on your body...come here, read and post....you can do this, and if you feel worse or have some different symptoms, get professional help.

Well, I am pretty much at the 48 hour point. I just saved thousands of dollars from being at a detox clinic.

Just too pills to sleep, so there is no way I will be drinking tonight either.

Two nights of so-so sleep done. Now at 60 hours. I did have the sweats last night and woke up several times. I just got a towl to wide the sweat off. My head feels MUCH more clear today.

I have read it takes 72 hours for alcohol to be 100% out of your system, and after that is is all mental addiction. So I will be 100% clean by bedtime. I am not having any shaking now, or cravings. Sure it would be nice to go hang with my buddies in the bar tonight since it is Friday but I will pass (I hope).
