Happy Birthday to Me :)
Happy Birthday to Me :)
Yup, today is my birthday and the first sober one I have had since 1999 to be exact.
I have now 194 days sober and since I came to SR in January, I have had a total of almost 9 months sober this year (I had a relapse earlier this year but learned from it and came right back doing it different.) This has been the year of change and sobriety has changed my life
I want to thank all of you for your support, encouragement and for sharing all of your experiences here. Like many, I did not think that it was possible to live an alcohol free life and to become the better person I am now. I no longer think about drinking or wonder how I will get through the day anymore.
Sobriety is amazing and it has changed every aspect of my life for the better. I am all around positive person who lives a healthy life now and each piece of my recovery has helped me grow stronger and more determined to continue.
I am grateful to have found you and for all of you allowing me to share my journey. I look forward to continuing my recovery and sharing with all of you - my SR family.
People can and do change for the better. Don't ever write yourself off. I'm sure glad I didn't!
All the best and never give up.
