First time near a bar last night

I had to go to a hotel for a meeting and was waiting for someone in the lobby. There was a bar right there. My favorite bar. I actually did not go out very much (99% of the time drank at home) but I loved this place.

It was weird and my feelings caught me unawares. Everyone sounded like they were having fun. I felt jealous and thought how in other times I would have snuck in for a quick drink after my meeting. And then gone home and had another 6, alone.

The person I was meeting showed up and we went to the room. The Rotary Club's flag was there. It read:

Reminds me of a quote from a woman with years and years of sobriety: When all else fails, it's still generally better for everyone around me if I don't drink.
