Arrow Big Book Quote

*~*~*~*~*^ Big Book Quote ^*~*~*~*~*

"Much to our relief, we discovered we did not need to consider
another's conception of God. Our own conception, however inadequate,
was sufficient to make the approach and to effect a contact with
Him. As soon as we admitted the possible existence of a Creative
Intelligence, a Spirit of the Universe underlying the totality of
things, we began to be possessed of a new sense of power and
direction, provided we took other simple steps."

It's not uncommon to hear people say they found God and/or got closer to God through AA after abandoning God after growing up in strict religious environments, including many years of religious school. Or for athiests to come to believe in a higher power using this philosophy. This is what makes AA so effective.

One thing I really love about AA the most is I could come up with a God of my own understanding, not having to have to believe in anyone else's perception or a religous type of God.

I did come to a new sense of power and direction.

I liked this paragrah from the Big Book. Helped me out immensely.
