LOL. This reminds me of a passage in "Money" by Martin Amis, which I read a while ago. The main character is drunk throughout the book, until one morning:
For a good few minutes I thought I must be seriously ill, unprecedentedly, terminally so. My symptoms included a spectral clarity of vision, numbness of head and springiness of limb, and a wierd watery taste in the root of my mouth. Whoops, here it comes, I thought, the lung thing, the heart deal, the brain gimmick. Then I realised what was up. No hangover. So this is what morning is. It's not unprecedented. I remember now
My head doesn't pound in the morning, I too no longer vomit LOL, and for the most part, my skin looks so much better! I started a daily skin regimen and today I look younger and healthier. I think that's most noticeable. I also have more energy when I workout in the morning. I feel stronger than I used to.
Well, my teeth are white again. I often skipped brushing because it ruined the taste of my drink.
I no longer wet my pants.
I no longer vomit on a regular basis.
I no longer wake up to a broken nose, broken ribs, or, as Jabba so aptly put it, mystery injuries.
My chest no longer hurts upon waking, and I don't wake up with my heart pounding.
I no longer shake.
I no longer pour sweat.
I can walk without stumbling.
I've gained back up to a healthy weight. When I drank, you could see every rib and every knob on my backbone. I think I weighed a whopping 80 lbs., and I'm 5'6".
In short, I just feel better!

Random bruises are definitely gone...I once scraped my shin from ankle to knee, that was awful...will carry that scar for life.
I think Fandy bumped the Physical vanity thread...there's lots in there too!
Lildawg...I'm don't have chest pains anymore either...what a relief!

I never had anything too serious like a missing arm or leg in the morning btu I did scare the hell out of myself one time when I got 'out of my mind drunk" and apparently stubbed one of my toes so bad that it got all black and I am pretty sure I sprained it. It eventually healed and there was nothing the docs would do really besides buddy tape it. The scary part was that I had no recollection of it happening and did not notice it until I was in the shower the next day.......then it started to kill me with pain.
Physical Changes:
1. No more bills from the shrink.
2. No more broken cell phones from falling in the pool.
3. No mystery dents on the car.
4. No more heat-seeking missiles directed my way after a night out.
5. A significant dent in the suburban recycling depot because of a lack
of beercans from my house.
6. A lack of frenzied activity in the morning looking for my car, my lost car keys, lost money, Tylenol, deodorant, or nice clothes to wear to camoflage my hangover.
7. And biggest physical change of all: no bumps on the head or bruises on the body from walking into the wall on my way to my bedroom, which was actually the garage.

Eyes less puffy (I still smoke and stay up too late).
No migranes from red wine.
My skin feels/looks a little better (no more dehydration).
I enjoy eating again.
My stomach isn't sticking out like it did.
In 17 days, my skin is almost back to normal (hydrated), no bloat, softer hair and the eyes are looking clear and bright.
I posted this in the fitness section but will repeat here. Today, as I was leaving work, I got in my car and buckled my seat belt as usual. I looked down and saw the waist strap of my belt kind of sitting out there in the air. I thought, what the hell? Then I realized, thats where my bloated/fat belly use to go! I know I have lost weight but haven't gotten on the scale yet.

After 80 days sober a lot of good, positive stuff.
Acid reflux gone, weight down from 204 to 192(I'm 6'1),eating better, bloated feeling gone, looking younger,4 mile daily run much easier now, wife much happier.Even my dog seems pleased.
After all these positive happenings, now what? Why it almost feels so good its scary!
