Change your thinking
Thanks to everyone for support in first few weeks. I have bought a book Change Your Thinking, to help me cope with my own thoghts and feelings about my husbands depression and maladaptive coping. Hopefully he will read it after me.
The only thing I can control are my responses, actions and feelings about it. It is the first time in 20 years I have really let myself become dragged down by his misery and a part of that has been me drinking too much. When I feel myself again I will assess where the relationship is at. No point stressing about it now.
We are going on a 4 night hiking trip tomorrow on a tropical island Hinchinbrook Island. Thorsborne Trail, Hinchinbrook Island National Park (Department of Environment and Resource Management) It will be great to have time out with just the two of us in nature.
Better get my backpack packed. Thanks All

Ooh, that ought to be fun and relaxing. Yes, do take it as it comes, one day at a time. No point at all to stress about things out of your control. Take good care of you and you'll be better equipped to deal with relationships and other outside things.
