update for today- had to go to ER late last night

well we contacted the place and made an appt for my daughter and they want all of the money up front since she isnt insured, I simply dont have it without selling stocks which takes 10 days to get the check from my 401k. so i tried to talk her into going to a place i went and she said no. i am going to sell the stocks.
as far as me, i have nearly two days sober and thought it would be easier this time. its not. i thought i was having a heart attack or something middle of last night and went to ER. Shaking, sweating, throwing up water (sorry for being gross) and eyes still jumping around. anyway they gave me librium which i didnt know was a detox drug and i take a dose every 6 hrs. just took one and it knocks you out. hopefully i will feel better soon.
just asking for prayers and hope. i will probably not post anymore today because i can barely type shaking and extreme anxiety. i have no desire for alcohol at all- i cant even eat.
peace and love to you
dub

I am SO GLAD you got medical help. Better safe than sorry, ya know. Congrats on two days sober. Stay away from that poison and you'll be alright. It will get better the longer you're sober. Do whatever you have to do to get help for daughter and take good care of yourself as well. Stay sober and you'll be fine.

geeze what a night/day you've had.....yikes on the no insurance, i hope everything works out and your daughter appreciates what a loving, caring father she has.

it's no wonder your body reacted so strongly from so much additional stress you have had for days on end.

my prayers for the best possible outcome...i hope tomorrow you feel stronger, can rest, sleep and eat.

((((Dubs))))

I'm glad you got some medical care. The librium should take the edge off the withdrawals. Try to rest as much as you can and drink lots of gatorade or other sports drinks to stay hydrated.

Is there a particular reason why your daughter wants to go to the specific treatment center she wants?

Take care and keep us posted when you can.

Much love,

Lenina

You can do this Dub, I know you have been struggling with this beast for a while. There is more pain by continuing drinking & dealing with all of the crap that goes with it than just going through the cravings/withdrawals.

Its not easy but it is definitely worth the effort & commitment. Glad you hear that you went for some medical help this time around.

Do it for your daughter, your family & most importantly for you. Just for today is all we have to do from this day forward.

Prayers inbound buddy, we are all here for you.

Take Care,

NB

All The Best man. Your daughter is a lucky girl to have a loving father like yourself. I hope she realises how fortunate she is and can count her blessings.

Peace
