5 days sober
5 days sober
Well, here it is, the BIG DAY. I usually start on the beer in earnest this afternoon about 5:00pm and then don't stop until Sunday whenever I pass out. I'm still counting down the hours until 5pm and was craving a drink last night as is pretty much always the case, though I'm determined not to drink.
Anyway, I'm feeling pretty good and have had a good week at work without the whole drinking thing and the effects it has and I've been sleeping much better, even without the valium. Less stress and anxiety from alcohol = more relaxed. Just have to keep reinforcing that on myself.
Maybe I don't have a drinking problem after all............Ha ha ha ha ha hah...............yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!!

your determination and resolve will carry you....remember feeling GOOD as opposed to feeling sick, head-ache, hungover, naueseated....you can get up in the AM and feel good about yourself.
it is an accomplishment, congrats, i can relate too.

Just think of how good you will feel and how proud of yourself you will be come Sunday. And yes I too found anxiety goes away without booze. Good for you!!! Reward yourself everyday until sunday.. you deserve it!
Hi Spikeman - You can do it! Just wanted to say: hang in there. Each weekend is getting easier for me - it definitely feels strange in the beginning. Expect it to feel a little sad, lonely, boring, etc.... It's OK, it will pass!!!!
