My Sobriety Journey
My Sobriety Journey
Hi Everyone.
I just found this website, and joined because I need help.
I am on Day 1 of being sober. I've had enough. I am going to start going to AA meetings very soon.
I do have a question though. Is it ok for spouses to go to the same meetings together?

InsaneHeart,
There are open and closed meetings of AA. Anyone can come to an open meeting -- including a spouse. Only alcoholics or those with a desire to stop drinking can attend closed AA meetings. In my area, we have "couples recovery" meetings of AA. Welcome to sober recovery.

Go to a meeting and get a directory. It will give the time and place of bot open and closed meetings.
Glad you're here, IH - I don't know your story, but it wasn't long ago that I came here looking for help and it has made all the difference in the world. I remember saying "I've had enough" too. There was really no way I found (in years of trying) that enabled me to stay sober any longer than a few days. You'll find great support here and also in AA. Keep posting and reading!
