a 'Rosie' future!
a 'Rosie' future!
I've been missing having a dog around the place big time, the cat (Tink) is good for cuddles and snuggling, but she's not big on walks!
Just before we went away to the lakes the other week a friend of mine told me about a young dog she'd found running in the main road, no collar, no microchip, not spayed and generally very nervous. This friend helps run an animal rescue and they were full up, she has four dogs of her own and is fostering a pup.
I have no idea what happened to my brain, but I offered to foster this little girl until her owners claimed her, or a new home was found.
Well, she arrived, I won't say it was love at first sight between her and Tink, but they get on OK!
The boys fell in love with her right away (and so did I)
I had a bit of panic, poor Joe is only 13 but he's had 3 dogs inhis life and they've all been given away, and I gave the last one away myself!
What on earth was I thinking, bringing another dog into his life just to let it go again?
We suddenly all get up early and fight over who's holding the lead on morning walks! We chat more than we ever did on the walks! The boys are learning more about 'responsibility' than they ever did! I'm learning more about my boys.
The dog is called Rosie, she's a nine month old lab cross and she's beautiful, in more ways than one!
She had 28 days to be claimed, she wasn't so she's staying here for good!
Out of all the rehoming sites I looked at, and notices in the pet shop I can't believe I turned them all down or ignored them and ended up with the best dog ever by accident!
I'll post a photo in a bit when I figure out how lol

She's got an old soul, it's in her eyes. She's got eyes like my handsome mixed pup (we met when he was 5 months old and on the run at the county dump). He's six now.
What a beauty she is!
I guess when it comes to pups you've had the rest, now it's time for the best
So glad you found each other and are ready to make its a lasting relationship.
Give her smooches for me, too!
