How much did you/do you drink daily?

I know someone can have a couple drinks a day and be an alcoholic and another might have 30 or someone can drink on the weekends and be one and another drink every day. But I just wonderd if anyone wanted to share. Another question I have is how long did you drink for? 5 years? 50 years?

I stopped drinking when i was 26 years old and i was up to 2 pints almost on a daily basis.

The amount i consumed isnt what made me alcoholic. It's how i felt once i put the drink down that made me an alcoholic. I treated my alcoholism for a long time with alcohol, and the way i treat it now is with the 12 steps and God.

I started as an evening drinker. I relapsed twice. This last time was for 2 and a half years. By the time I quit I had been drinking day and night for many, many months. Probably near a year.

Lately a handle in about 3/4 days or a 1/5th every day and a half. Only 21 and I've only been drinking heavily for like...8 months. Drank before that for about three years.

I drank a lot for years, 'socially'. In a matter of months my drinking went fro 2-3 drinks a few nights a week to hiding/drinking vodka in my closet. Almost died, drank again. Showed up at work drunk, almost lost everything that mattered to me in life..haven't drank since. At my worst I was drinking almost a fifth of vodka a day.

I was drinking until I passed out 5 or 6 days a week until 13 days ago. It was either a bottle of wine and a few beers, or 5+ drinks.

I can't describe how much better I feel now.

I always drank, for 10 years, but would go on binges for a few months at a time. I would drink anywhere from a bottle of wine, 7-9 beers/shots to 14-15+...somewhere in there, it varied, to be honest I rarely kept count. My cycle would be weeks/months with just drinking during the weekend or a couple weeknights to months of drinking everyday. I could probably (can't guarantee) go out and have 2-3 beers but I know sooner or later I'd end up back to excessive daily drinking.

I drank heavily for about 10 years with the last 5 being pretty much daily. Couldn't really tell you exactly but I could put down a .759 ML of rum in a night or 2 bottles of .750ml night. At my peak I was doing close to a handle of rum almost nightly. Pretty scary stuff.

All the best!

Been drinking for 21 years until 12 days ago. Longest I went before that was about 3 months and that was in 2007.

I started out drinking 2 or 3 beers a night unless I went out and drank more on the weekend. In the last 5-10 years I'd drink around a 30pk every 2 days.

Lately it was down to a 6pk a day and 3-4 shots of whiskey.

So glad I stopped.

I had my last drink 41 days ago, and turned 29 this past Saturday. I began drinking on weekends with friends at age 15, and by 17 I was drinking 4-5 times a week. By 19 I was pretty much drinking every day, if I could.

I would say, on an average day for the past 10 years, I would consume 10 drinks. Sometimes 10 beers, sometimes 6 beers and a bottle of wine, sometimes 7 beers and 3 shots. You get the idea; I believe the combination of drinks added up to around 10 a day.

Not quite sure how I was putting myself through that for such a long time. I'm now eating and sleeping regularly, working out in my apartment complex's exercise room, having real connections with people I care about...Pretty awesome. Glad I can now say I consume 0 alcoholic beverages daily.

Either a bottle of wine or two / three litre bottle of cider on work nights and weekends all day and night free for all- pretty much for the last ten years!

I started drinking (one glass of wine) at 56 and was up to anywhere from one to three bottles of wine a day, all day long, within six months. My drinking career was a bit less than three years... but it seemed like forever.

Started drinking at age 14 (May of 1980) and was a weekly binge drinker (2-3 days per week) until about the age of 33, when I started drinking beer daily. For the past 10 years I'd average 12-18 beers per weekday with much more on the weekends. My last day was June 21, 2009 (age 43), haven't had a drop since then and feel better than I have in years.

I don't mean to be an *******, but this question should almost be a sticky. This is the last time I'll answer it. 1.75L of Whiskey per 24 hours.

It is NOT about how much we drank, but rather, what we did to get through it and find sobriety. Some here drank a lot less, some drank a lot more...the point is did we find sobriety and if so, how? And, how can we help you. I don't want to dwell on what I did, only what I will do.

Rather than retype the whole story again , you can read it here:

I can only reiterate that I continue to pray that no one else has to take this disease/affliction as far as I did.

Love and hugs,

It started out with a 12-pack one night a week on the weekend, to drinking maybe 4-6 beers 5 nights a week or so. I always had a light hangover, so on mornings after I didn't drink, I still felt a kind of hangover expectation, like when people lose limbs but can still feel them there I suppose.

Usually between 20-30 oz of Vodka/ per night towards the end there. I drank pretty heavy for 6-7 years. When I first started drinking alone in 2004 it was about 12 oz of vodka a night
