awesome quotes

iwantcontrol reminded me I made a great inspiration book long ago. Here are some quotes.

I'm learning that life
is meant to be filled with as much sadness and pain
as happiness and pleasure
and allowing ourselves to feel everything
is an indicator
of fulfillment.

(oohhh! That's good!)

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days
to allow my living to open me
to make me less afraid
more accessible
to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my signifigance;
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom
goes on as fruit.

Dawna Maricova

Love is a total comprehension of the wholeness of existence -
an acceptance of it all.
Oneness.

Cradle your wounded places like precious babies.

Breathing Exercise~

Breathing in Love,
Releasing fears from the past.
Breathing in Love,
Releasing ego and judgement.
Breathing in Love,
Releasing pain from the past.

The Open Heart

If you have no empathy,
You have not collected enough data.
To find compassion
Stay present and engaged.
Ask yourself: What part of them do I disown in myself?
Then find their humanity: Where are they genuine?
An open heart does not comprehend separations, exclusions or hierarchies.

How much had I put off living today in order to say or do what was expedient? To get what I thought was needed? Could survival become a habit? Was it possible to live so defensively that you never got to live at all?

Since the house is on fire, let us warm ourselves.

There is no way out of this.
And its trying to squirm our way out
That causes so much suffering.
We need to make peace
With the circumstances of our life.
We need to accept
Who and what we are
Our work, our family~
All the aspects of our lives.
~ Sensei Bodhin Kjolhede

Have patience toward all that is unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Don't search for answers which could not be given to you now because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answers. ~Rainer Maire Rilke

Is it worth the risk?
What will I lose?
What is there to lose that is not already gone?

We can't look to the world to restore our worth; we are here to restore our worth to the world.

My heart is wide enough to love you AND let you go.

Our hero can discover that she is guided in her journey by inner voices that are part of a vast realm of power and consciousness~ One that is, in fact, the essence of who she is herself. Then she knows she is utterly safe and cared for, and that her every spontaneous movement is an expression of the Divine, and is perfect and right.

Until a woman has given herself permission to be fabulous, she will not find herself with partners who promote her ability to be so.

We have a job to do - reclaiming our glory.
It's work, and it will not please everyone.
We will be called grandiose.
We will be accused of being in dangerous denial -
of our faults, our neurosis, our weaknesses.
Buts its an ancient trick, this -
telling a woman that her glory is her sickness.
You bet we're in denial!
We deny the power of weakness to hold us back,
be it the weakness of the world
or the weakness in our own past.
We are on to better things,
such as owning our beauty
and honoring the courage it has taken us to get here
and claiming our natural power to heal and be healed.
We're not grandiose, but we're tired -
tired of pretending we are guilty when we are innocent,
that we are plain when we know we are beautiful,
and that we are weak when we know we are strong.
~Marrianne Williamson

Conflict is the source of all growth and is an absolute necessity if one is to be alive.

Don't tarry to long to mourn the effects of oppression;
Celebrate and rejoice in the new.
The past is over; affirm that.
Wipe the dirt off your feet.

I choose me with all my heart!
Not half, not some, not part!
I am someone I am willing to love
I give myself to myself
I share myself with myself
I risk with myself
I commit to myself.
I tell everyone and anyone -
I love me!
I want more ME in my life!
I want to have a successful, extended love relationship
with ME!

I choose life!
I choose to live!
I free my soul!
I can fly!

Perfection is death, not life!
It is the enemy of wholeness!
Life is messy!

To judge something is to assume its growth is over - that it is finished.
Living beings are never finished.
Impermanence is our greatest strength. Without it, there is no process.
Life is process.
Without trust of process, all our actions are driven by fear.
Fear is the friction in all transitions.
Trust process.

Anything worth doing is worth doing badly.
So do it.
If you win, you win.
If you lose, you win.
Do it.

One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time. ~Andre Gide

Start Where You Are

Start where you are.
The only place you can start when you are lost.

For years I waited
to start from where I wanted to be.
So I never started.

I didn't know that the only way to get to where I wanted
was to start Here,
where I find myself - Now!

There is no better time to start...
no Right time, no Good time.
Now.

Here.
That is where you pick up the trail.
Once you have started, on thing leads to another.

The path inside is not chosen -
it presents itself.
You can follow

or not...
but you don't choose the trail,
the trail chooses you.

If you refuse the trail that offers itself,
it may be some while before another appears.
Surrender.

Or start to die.

~Steve Sherldan

Praise and blame,
gain and loss, pleasure
and sorrow come
and go like the wind.

To be happy, rest
like a great tree in the
midst of them all.
~ The Buddha

How fabulous that turned out to be!! I still need to learn these lessons. Life is so circular that way...

The hardest battle you're ever going to fight is to be just you ~ Leo Buscaglia

We only have this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand, and melting like a snowflake. Let us use it before it is too late ~ Marie Beynon Ray
