Withdrawal_symptoms

Once again I need your experienced advise:
I'm on day 54 today and feeling really well with it; however the strangest thing happened yesterday. I was going about my Sunday business of catching up with housework, laundry etc. and all of a sudden I felt like I was withdrawing again. My hands felt shaky and I had that empty stomach churning feeling I used to get when only a drink would calm me down. What's up with that? And...... is this normal? Is it just my mind playing games with me? When it happened I wasn't even close to thinking about drinking?
Of course I didn't give in to that aweful feeling, but it really bothered me that it happened.

I would say if it happens again check with your doctor, but when I feel shaky its almost always a blood sugar or caffeine thing

I also found, especially early in my sobriety that I became hyper focused on myself and everything I was feeling. Being a drunk certainly causes a bunch of health problems.. sobering sometimes reveals health problems. I started relating everything from a headache to a broken nail to my sobriety and possible withdrawal/post acute withdrawal, until I 1. stopped obsessing about myself, and 2. realized that life still happens, and not every bump in the road (health, emotions, etc) is in direct relation to drinking or quitting drinking.

You might not have slept well, you might have stood up too fast, you might have gone too long without eating, you might be a little dehydrated, who knows? May or may not have anything to do with drinking.. and just reguler ol' life! See a doctor if you're having new medical issues.

I agree with the consensus Saphie - it's always best to consult with your doctor if anythings troubling you

Hope you feel better now

low blood sugar can cause shakiness and an empty aching feeling in your stomach. it also makes you weak and will make you crave a food or certain beverage. it could be that, see a doc if it happens again.
