TOPIC: I LOVE U. We All Like To Hear Those Words. Have You Said Then Today? To Whom?
Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.
We all like to hear those 3 little endearing
words...... I Love You.
We heard them when we were little bits,
children, from our parents, relatives,
friends.
We say them to show affection to another,
Someone that is special. A friend, a child,
a parent, teacher, spouse, pets.
I would say them to my babies when they
were small. When Id tuck them into
bed. Dropping them off to school.
And how often do we tell our spouses
we love them? Often we fall in and out of
love but these people touched our
lives in some way and will always be
special to us in some way.
I love hearing those words and i love
saying them to special people. Pets.
How about writing them in a note, a
letter, on ur cell phone, txt., emails,
or just a kind jesture like a hug, smile.
What about you?
Who do u say those special words to?
How often do u say them?
For me I is all thru out the day to my
spouse. Morning before work, during
the day on the phone, txting, home
from work with a hug, thru out the
evening while watching tv and on
the computer. Before bed time which
puts closure to an long day apart.

I'm a lovey-dovey person, so I say it all day to the various people I care about, but I mean it sincerely when I say it. I end phone, email, and text conversations with it.
Maybe I have an "I love you" addiction, too. lol

I dont say it as often as I should. I do tell my cats a lil cousins all the time tho.
I tell my grams maybe once a day when its bedtime.
Or if I am on the phone with a loved one I will say it hangin up. In a letter or email.
But I am not overly verbal with it.

My children and fiancee probably get tired of hearing it, I say it so often But I mean what I say, and say what I mean. My father and brothers hear it too, as well as some of my close friends in recovery.
What healing words these three are. I didn't know how to be loved or love anyone properly until I got into recovery in NA. I'm just learning that I can be loved and that I can love in return now. What a revelation! My world has expanded and so has my heart. Thank God for NA. And for you all in SR!
Love to you all!

For me its important to love myself each day as that was not so when I was using, so I say teh words and take the action of looking after and being good to myself and in that way I can extend that love to those around me.
Each morning I tell the dogs I love them, tell my daughter I lover her and talk to my HP

I told my estranged wife that I love her today, but she seems to be looking for her next poor pathetic drunk to be co-dependent with. Oh well. I have 15 days in the books, and nothing's getting in the way of my sobriety, even love.
