My Report on 2 days dry!
It's exactly 48 hours since I took my last sip of alcohol.
I just wanted to sort of publicly journal what I currently feel as a result (or corollary perhaps).
1) I have a cold. I am not sure if this is just a ... well a cold, or if it's something to do with stopping drinking, but whatever, right? It's nothing a paracetamol can't fix.
2) I slept a LOT last night and this morning (making up for lost sleep on my first dry night)!
3) I am bursting with energy - which is weird for me! I am usually drowsy all day!
4) I don't feel the pain in my chest anymore that I constantly felt, and the body pain I have had is now just a small "shadow" of what it was!
5) Last night before bed I had a sudden urge to work out, so I got my weights and worked out ... I lasted for 10 intense minutes lol (quite a lot for someone who's just given up the bottle)!
6) I am more romantic and amorous. I will let you figure that one out
So.
These are my experiences. Thanks for letting me share them.

A bit about me?
OK, hehe!
I live here in Tropical SE Asia, but originally I am from Northern Ireland, UK. I am 27, I am a newly wed ... hmmmm, I play a lot of musical instruments. I am an introvert. Hmmm. I enjoy watching wrestling and scrubs (I know that makes me sound like a child, but I am a big kid!

I think tonight, i started really feelin the symptoms. I have felt intensly tired since about 6:30 probably, and i have also had a light headed feeling, thinking I was gonna fall over, and i have felt hungry and my sides hurt. I have also wanted to eat chocolate. I have shed some tears for no reason and my head feels like it's turned to fluff.
I don't look forward to tomorrow because from what i understand it just gets worse on day 3. When my sister was getting off heroin - on day 3, she tried to escape thru the chimney. I know this is alcoholism and not heroin, but i can't think right now.

Doink I would really suggest seeing a doctor as soon as you can. Be totally honest with the doctor about your drinking.
I am not a doctor but I can tell you this alcohol withdrawals can in some cases kill people, withdrawing from herion very rarely kills. Far more alcoholics die from withdrawals then herion addicts.
Please see a doctor and BE HONEST!

Way to go dude! Great positive thoughts! # 6 is especially awesome considering you're a newlywed. I craved chocolate when I stopped drinking and gave in to those cravings BIG time it's pretty common, pamper yourself. Hope you get feeling better.

I feel good again
I am medicating myself with Billy Connolly! I had some M&M's and some Maltesers, and a yucky locally made KitKat that tastes nothing like the real thing
Got some Ice Cream in the freezer -- just in case
Will let you know how I feel tomorrow.
Thank you everyone for your kind words, and thanks for the encouragement! thx
Padoink!
Doink you may want to try hard candies, although high in calories, you get them slower and the cravings are still helped. The really tough part for me was staying stopped, that is where a lang term recovery program is key.
