4 weeks today
It's been 4 weeks today since I had my last drink and I woke up crying. I'm tired of waking up in pain everyday and it seems like everyday is a struggle and I'm tired of it. No I am not going to go back to drinking, I don't want to go back to drinking. I just want to do everyday things without feeling this way..

Congratulations on your sober time.....
Early sobreity is difficult and I'm sorry to know
you are having sadness.....
You really will feel more positive soon I think.

I'm 3 weeks sober and also can relate to what you said. But even though we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, we've got this support group where everybody knows exactly what we are going through. I am really grateful for that.

If you're anything like me, you drank for years Maz... it takes a bit of time to recover from that and get used to not doping ourselves and feeling everything - thankfully not years, but more time than most of us would like.
It's pretty ironic that the thing we need most in recovery is patience, cos that's not what most of us are known for....
Hang in there Maz - it really does get better and it really is worth it.
Are you looking into any face to face support?
Always good to see Aussies here btw

Hi Maz,
The emotional ups and downs are very common in early recovery. I am not sure if the pain you are referring to is emotional or physical but it really is a good idea to consult a doctor. My blood pressure for example went through the roof in early sobriety for example and I had to have special medication to control it.
At any rate I hope you are feeling better soon. You are doing a wonderful thing, just hang in there it does get easier.

Oh boy - the first few months... waking up.... mind in a whirl... so many things...
It'll get better... but you need to work some type of recovery program. There are tools you can use to get your head straight...
Hang in there

I've got to go along with Dime and suggest you see a doctor. You may be suffering from depression, which is not unusual. A doctor can help you there. Also, are you going to any AA meetings? You'll find a lot of understanding, help, and support in those rooms.
Early sobriety can be pretty rough. You just have to take it one day at a time. It will get better.
