I enjoy being mindful of myself and watching my behaviors. In the few conversations that I have with people, or what I type on SR, I like to evaluate myself with the goal of being a more optimistic, positive-minded person. Here are a few examples of speech that can be made more positive simply by changing the phrasing (I got some of these off of a website):

Negative Positive I'm confused! I'm not thinking clearly! I feel awful! I feel out of sorts today!
I'm getting tired! I need a rest! You're a Jerk! You're different!
I'm going to be late again! I wish I could be on time!
He hates me! He dislikes me!
It was a failure! It was unsuccessful!
That was a bad thing to do! That was an improper thing to do!
He is sick! He is not well!
I want to.... I need to.......
talk to you later talk to you soon

By being aware of of speech we can become more positive, and when we communicate in a positive way we feel more positive. This is important for alcoholics/addicts imo.

Good post fel.

I would say that I need to rephrase myseld wuite pften. Not only to be more positive inward. But as well as outward.
I also have been trying real hard to replace my many nasty cuss words with silly words.
I do have some seriously foul language at times and I have gotten to where I dont even relize I am sayin those words. Thats not good.

I have nothing to add.

lol trish, i need to work on my spelling too. what was that adam sandler movie where he has to go back to grade school in order to inherit his dad's company? that was hilarious.
