The tools in my toolbox, that allow me to fix most any problem I encounter.

12 steps

Serenity Prayer

Higher power

Principles before personalities.

As long as the ties that bind us together are stronger then those that would tear us apart, all will be well.

Identify my stressers and triggers, realize they are not really important.

Action vs. reaction – my choice everytime.

Just for today.

50 people like me, 1 person does not…. what should I focus on?

Good stuff Tommy, here are a few of mine.

Pass it on!

Stay in the center, I spent to many years in the outer limits!

Progress and not perfection.

Don't let people live rent free in my head.

Look for the good in all.

Ask for help.

When angry, frustrated or confused.......... STOP, just stop and calm myself, pray & then turn it over if need be.

BREATHE!

Be!

Make a daily decision to be as happy as possible.

BREATHE

Love that, I forget to breathe sometimes. So simple but yet so hard.

Thanks for the additions for my toolbox

BREATHE is definetly a good one, I am always telling people when they are stressed to just BREATHE!

I also have lots of SMILES in my toolbox which is something to took me years to work on as I am a very introverted person but I now have lots to smile about so I share the smiles.

Oh and I have CHOCOLATE in the box too.

I like to keep it really simple. Especially if I'm having a bad day, feeling overwhelmed with everything.

Here is what always works for me.
  • The Serenity Prayer (it's in my signature if you don't know it)
  • Go to meetings and don't drink in between
