Hey new here...... I posted in the newcomers forum too. I have a few family members who are alcoholics but most importantly a mother. I'ts been a problem for me and the rest of my family since I was born but it's still affecting all of us.

Anyways after years of couselors,aa, and hundreds of other things we've tried to help them help themselves, I'm a bit better with handling it myself. But it still gets to me and everyone else of course.

Anyways I like the site it looks like a great tool to help a lot of people. I'll be around and posting, hopefully helping when I can. I studied addiction, psythology, psycotherapy and social counseling on and off for about 7 years to try and get a better understanding of why some people develop problems and hopefully I've learned a thing or two.

Heyy thanks. Unfortunately I had to take the hard road and figure out a lot of things for myself and on my own but theres never enough help for these kind of problems.

Welcome. I have been posting here and going to Al-Anon for only a few weeks, but it has changed my outlook completely. Please keep posting. Maybe there are meetings in your area that you could check out.

Hey just wanted to say thanks again to everyone. I'm lookin to try and get my mother back into some kind of help by summertime so I know I'll be a little stressed out haha. I'm pretty sure I'll be all over this site and in this area a lot.
