Pounding Headache
Things have been 'heavy' at work....woke up numerous times with a pounding headache. Finally crawled out of bed and the scale was up ANOTHER pound. By this time, I'm pretty grumpy.
Standing at the sink I began to go through my day...and I realized I am SOBER 8 MONTHS, today! Yay, me! I am so grateful for my sobriety. The changes I have made and will be making are truly a blessing.
My whole attitude changed. I can handle ANYTHING, sober! So, me and my headache are going to take my fat butt to work, and REJOICE in it!
THANK YOU, SR. I do appreciate this place.

Funny that you should say about gaining weight. It was actually the fact that I forced myself on a diet that gave me the mental high to kick the sauce! I'd gotten fatter than ever because my the drinking over the past 18 months so I decided it was time to grab hold of things and sort myself out! As the weight reduced the drinking didn't seem important. Its why I regret the relaspe I had two weeks after starting the diet and going off the drink as if I hadn't of had it I probably would have lost more weight by now than I so far have!

Coffeenut, that is an awesome statement! I am trying to learn the fine art of handling life in sobriety, it is sometimes quite difficult and headache inducing. But that simple affirmation will be my new mantra "I (too) can handle anything sober!" Thank you for that.
And congratulations on 8 months!!
