Coffee?

So here I am at day 6, I feel great the thought of drinking is absent, except for the fact that I know I'm trying not to.
So I really never drank coffee before, but now I'm drinking 5-6 cups a day.
I wonder if this is going to take the place of the bottle?
I have an addictive personality, Is the coffee OK?
Has anyone else increased their coffee intake since they quit the alcohol?

I already used caffeine fairly regularly, but now that it's my last vice, I'm doing more than I used to.

I have to say coffee is a big pleasure for me since I have quit drinking. I don't do as many cups as you are doing, Hardwired, but every day it is something I look forward to. I drink tea too.

A good cup of jo in the morning, even a cup or 2 along the way during the day, isn't gonna hurt anything. For me, if I was counting 'pots' of coffee I would try to cut back. Too much of anything usually isn't too good, ie. jitters, sleeplessness, racing heart beat etc.

Unless its booze, its about moderation and balance eh?

Other negative consequences....hmmmm.....coffee breath?

Peace.

I didnt realize how much coffee was effecting my sleep and would on occasions....give me mild anxiety......untill i switched to de-caf

Mind you i was drinking 10+ cups a day...

I dont think its much to worry about for most...

Because i drive at night ..........i only drink real coffee after 7pm and dont drink it when i get home...

You can get some half decent tasting de-caf these days.

Too much coffee is not good, you could probably do a google search to find out the reccommended daily number of caffienated coffees to drink. After you reach that limit during the day, switch over to decaf.

I have been drinking way too much coffee to but when I try watching what I put in my mouth starting next week Coffee is definitely on my ignore list. It is way too fattening. I probably should mention that I like it with 3 spoons of sugar. Without sugar I can't drink it so I will be switching to black(1 cup a day) and green (the rest of cups) instead.

I got so sick of tremors and shakiness from hangovers that I don't want to put much in my body that messes with my nervous system. I drink a few cups in the morning but I cut the coffee with half decaf so I don't get wired.

Coffee and Diet Coke for me. And I can't do decaf. I'm trying to get back into drinking water - I used to be really good about it - but for now, it's coffee and Diet Coke.

I'm on my third large iced coffee. I like coffee the way I like my women.......bitter. Kidding, but I should start limiting the amount I drink.

I never drink any coffee after 11:00AM.

I inwardly smile when someone shares, at an evening meeting, with coffee in hand, about how they don't sleep well.

About 6 cups a day here.
I never drink coffee after 5pm though,
or I have a hard time sleeping.

Gave up the coffee. It's already too hard for me to get to sleep.
Substituted it with green tea. Definitely not the same. But, frankly given my propensity to overdue something I like to drink.
I have been surviving on tea, water and yesterday--got myself a Sprite. Weee!

i'm a black coffee drinker but im an avid redbull fan! both drinks give me the uncanny ability to basically do dumber things faster - but they sure make me happier and bouncier! be careful though, consuming more than 6 cups of coffee in one day on a regular basis can be dangerous - even leading to possible hallucinations!
