My daughter is sick today. Now some of you may ask what is so special about that? Well, she is sick and she went into work. That is something coming from someone who did not work for 2 and 1/2 years. She was afraid to call in sick because she really likes her job and she does not want to worry about being fired. After she got there she found out another waitress had already called in sick. This may not last but for today I am seeing the responsible Megan that I raised. (She really should have stayed home as she is spreading germs like crazy) Hugs, Marle

Your dd's commitment brought a smile to my face Marle. Responsibility, Commitment, Morality - it's a powerful thing that builds. Congrats to your dd for showing that. Congrats to YOU for instilling that in her. You should BOTH be proud!
Huge smile...the first time my Megan did that I felt like shouting from the mountains. She used to call out sick if she broke a fingernail. It really is such a happy feeling to see that responsibility come back.
Over the weekend Megan told me about a position that was opening up at her job that she had been thinking about applying for. But although the work was easier, it was a lateral move and she felt the "growth opportunities" were very limited in that job (and knowing the industry she is in, I beleive she is right) and in the long run she is better staying put, getting the experience and continuing in school. It felt so good to hear talk of professional development and growth!
Enjoy the day and I hope Megan feels better soon!

Marle- I can totally relate to that. My daughter would call in if she even THOUGHT she was going to feel bad (unless she didn't have any drug money, she waitresses too). Now she works really hard. She now loves to shop for her kids and buys them all the things that they need. The other day she went and spent 200.00 for the rest of grandsons clothes for school. I DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING!!! FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING. That made me and her feel sooo good. It doesn't take much does it! So glad today is good for you
