Exclamation Please send more prayers- now for my son!

Yesterday I had my husband take my 15 year old son to the doctor, he has been experiencing leg swelling and severe pain from the kness down to his feet. I was thinking it was due to something he was doing in gym class, but was concerned at the same time. I wish I had gone to the appointment, but I was busy visiting my grandmother in the hospital.

My sons urine test showed blood in the urine. They took blood and asked if my husband would bring over a fresh specimen first thing in the morning.

About 45 minutes after it was dropped off the doctor called me and said that I would need to bring him in Tues. Because he needs to run furthur tests and send my son for a kidney workup and to an eye specialist. I tried to get the doctor to tell me why, and what might be going on, but he just told me to try not to worry this weekend (ya right) and that he would see us Tuesday.

I am scared to death - I will not drink atleast for today. I have had a couple ciggeretes and I dont even smoke.

Please, please pray somemore!!!

Well my gosh! I'm so sorry to hear this! If they told you to wait until Tuesday, though, it can't be THAT serious. Try not to worry TOO much (I know, I know...).

*hugs* and happy thoughts for you and your family.

Oh, I love it when the dr says something like that, and then says don't worry about it!! What the heck! You're the Mom, so of course you're worried. Just try to keep positive and believe that it will turn out to be okay.

I will be sending prayers for your son and for you.

Don't you just love it? It's so easy for them to say "not to worry"! You're probably like me, and rather know the possibilities, in order to prepare for the best/worst case scenarios. I'd most likely be on the internet with the symptoms, so I'd know what it could be.

There's nothing you can do until Tuesday, so just try to relax (as much as possible) until then. I certainly hope the doctor was able to give your son something to relieve the pain in the meantime. Not exactly a good idea to suddenly take up smoking, but at least it's better than drinking.

Of course, your son is added to my "prayer card".

OMG!!! DON'T WORRY? Yeah, ok. I can't even comment on that...too crazy for a doctor to say that to a mother!

My prayers for you, sweetie - you are experiencing many trials right now, many, many prayers for you to stay strong.

If you are interested in traditional prayer, google "The Father Larry Hess Prayer" - it is an amazing prayer for healing. I will pray it for your son and your Grandma tonight.

Love
Jomey

As a nurse I am ever amazed that docs really say that to people!! praying for your son as I type. But do know there are about a hundred million things that it can be...so try not to let it obsess your life. Obsessing is different than worrying?!? And you don't need to drink!
Sending strong love!!!

Good point! They'd have told you to admit him to the hospital ASAP if it was THAT serious. Still, between this and your grandma's condition that's a h3ll of a lot to have thrown at you 6 months into recovery. Just think how hellish it would be if you were drinking! Thank God you're sober!

Meanwhile you and your son and your grandma are all in my prayers.

My prayers for your son. I know this feeling all too well. Everything usually turns out just fine. I really believe that times like these are the reason why we are sober today. Stay strong.

******{Stay Strong Girl}}}}

I just had a close friend who went through something similar but her son
was a cancer scare, in the end of it all, it was nothing too bad at all.
I know it's hard not to worry, but like mentioned above if it was really
serious they would have admitted him right away.
Deep breaths.....
You cån handle this....

Sending good thoughts your way. It's always easier telling someone not to worry than it is actually NOT worrying.

My thoughts are with you. Stay strong.

"Faith is Confidence in God When We Do Not Understand"

When I begin to get overwhelmed with worry about something, the above sentence gives me strength. We have to remember that no matter what is going on, we have to have Faith that God is in control and watching over us.

As many others said, the Dr. didn't say for you to go to the hospital right away with your son which is a good sign.

Take care of yourself, Suzette. Please make sure you get as much rest as possible. Now with that said, put the cigarettes down! You don't need that habit ok? I'm a smoker and that's my next step towards a healthier me.

Prayers continue to be sent up special delivery for everyone in your family. Sometimes it's hard to find gratitude in every situation that we are dealt, but imagine if you were drinking, how you wouldn't be able to be there to support your Grandma and Son.

Hugs,
Judy
