This weekend.

First of all - I wish everyone a safe, sober, happy weekend.

Over the weekend, beware of a few tricks my 'disease' has played on me before:

1.) So & so, somebody, some situation, or some thing can cause me to drink/use.

FALSE: only your conscious, knowing, willing choice can make you drink/use. It will be no one else's 'fault' but yours.

2.) If I do drink/use I can always go to rehab, or start going to meetings, or do the steps, or... and I will then be able to quit drinking/using.

Do whatever it takes to stop drinking/using NOW, there is NO guarantee anything else will work. AND - you set yourself up to fail when you have a 'backup' plan.

These are just a couple of 'disease' tricks, there are more.

Everyone have a great weekend...!

Yeah!

Plenty of activities in store - running, the beach, playing some music, hitting a meeting each day, reading at night.

Telling my disease to shut the f@@k up... lol. Keeping a-c-t-i-v-e.

Day 6 here, Plan on keeping it sober through the weekend as well. Like you said lots of exercise and saying no to the situations that have made me relapse in the past! Have a happy drug-free weekend!!

Sound like a good plan. I used to have to really be careful with weekends. I had not thought about it till I read this, it has been a while sense I had to worry about making it through a weekend. So it does get easier with time. Hope everyone has an awsome and sober weekend!
