our episode of Intervention
Aloha,
Just want to let everyone know our episode of Intervention will be airing June23rd 9pm on A&e. Our episode is titled "Dan". Alcoholism suffocated our lives for too long. The family dynamic became sick. This is our story of love, loss and healing. I am very grateful.. My prayer is that our story will reach out and touch others as well. If you are a mother of a young child, or married to an alcoholic I do hope you tune in.
Thank you so much to all of you who reached out to me when I had cares and concerns. This forum has been so helpful to me in the past months.. blessings to you!

Hi Avasmiles,
I will be tuning into that show. I watch Intervention all the time, and am amazed at how many people it has, and continues to help. I've no doubt your show will inspire other - previous shows have certainly inspired me.

Intervention wouldnt be so bad if they didnt show the using so much. That show has sent me into relapse so many times.
Last thing I want to see is someone using.
Other than that It does hit home and hard and makes me think and cry all the time.
I think they need to leave the seens of using out is all.

Thanks Avasmiles-- Hope all is well with you and your family....
Anyone w/out cable (like me!) can see it a few weeks after it airs on the A&E website - you have to watch it in like 5 installments. Also it'll show up on YouTube after a few weeks - same thing you have to download each Part I - V.

I'll be watching. I hope all is going well with you and your family. I'm very interested in knowing if or how the program worked with the family through their recovery. Did they offer generous support to those who suffered the pain of living with an alcoholic? I am also very interested in how the process of getting on the program. Did Dan know of the pending intervention? So many questions!!!

Hi avasmiles
I watched your intervention and there are a lot of similarities between you ah and mine. They are basically all alike when they drink.
Your daughter is the cutest thing.
I was wondering how your husband is doing now? How are you doing? Is he still not drinking? Please update.
Good Luck

sarah -- wow, i just wrote in the gratitude thread yesterday about being grateful for the new show on intervention. i love that show. i almost always cry or tear up. and i'm always praying at the end for happy endings for the addict and their families. thank you for sharing your story.
and i want to know too how you and dan and baby ava are doing. it broke my heart to see how torn dan is about the loss of your first child (i was wondering how you are dealing with that -- i'm sure that is so hard on you too) and how hard his family carries around his eldest brother. but it was also nice to see how supportive and caring his family is with you too. and i was cheering dan on at the end that he went to treatment and seemed to be doing so well. i was just disappointed that we didn't get to see him back with his family sober. maybe a follow up show....
i hope things are still going great and you two have such a cute little baby

hello Sarah........ I've been seeing the previews for your show and couldn't wait to watch it...... Your husband reminded me of my boyfriend..... Thank you for getting your story out there.... I hope all is well with your family!
Hi,
I missed the original airing of that episode, but just caught it at home today. Thank you so much for having the courage to share your story. I sincerely hope that all is well with you. You have the most beautiful little girl.
I hope that someday I'll have as much courage as you've shown.
