Into recovery he goes...
Hi, it's been a while since I have posted here but I am back... My AH that I am separated from sent me a text message 2 days ago saying that he was going to inpatient rehab. I left him nearly six months ago as he refused to get help. I moved countries from him and we have a 15 month old baby. I have settled into life back at home like I never left. I have a great job, a great apartment and life is definately moving in the right direction. I have spoken to him on an off since I left and he would be talking sense and then go on a drug binge again. So, now he wants to turn it all around and of course he wants his wife and baby back. So instead of panicking I am going to take things one day at a time. The good news is that he got to his rehab and he is still there after day one! I guess anything can happen in the next month so will just take it day by day. Any experience shared will be greatly appreciated
Jen, regardless of your own healthy choices, this is a good decision for him. As father of your child, it would be nice if he could find and maintain sobriety long after he leaves rehab. That's when the real recovery begins, when they take the tools they acquire at rehab and learn to use them in the "real world".
You are wise to recognize how stable your life has become and to sit back at see if his actions back up his intentions.
Prayers for him and for you too, that this leads to healing and a better path no matter what you decide is best for you and your life.
Hugs

Your recovery is shining so brightly today !! You've really got a great attitude about all of it. I'm so happy for you that you've managed to find peace and stability in your life and the life of your child no matter what your AH may choose to do in the future.
