First Time To Post
Hi everyone. This is the first time I have posted here. I read the forum quite often and don't feel quite so alone. My son is an addict. Heroin is his drug of choice but he will use anything available to escape reality. I know there isn't anything new that I can add as all of horror stories are so similar. I'm just wanting let everyone know that your posts do help others if only to keep us from feeling like we aren't crazy, or at least the only crazy ones. I believe in the power of prayer and I pray that we all can find some peace somehow, somewhere. Please pray for my family and my son as I will do for all of you. There must be a special place in heaven awaiting our addicts because they are so tortured here. I pray daily to keep my son and for him to find peace. I wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day and thank you for helping this mother with your postings.
Welcome, Bren, from another mom here.
I'm sorry about your son, but glad you found us and hope you'll walk with us on this journey called recovery.
Make yourself comfy and others will be along to welcome you also.
Hugs from this mom's heart to yours.

Hi Bren,
Another mom here. My daughter is soon to be 27 this month. She was a heroin addict for 6 yrs. She is presently clean from all drugs. She did have an alcohol relapse but is back on track. We have had our ups and downs but she has worked on her recovery and today I can say I am really proud of her. She has been off of drugs for 10 months now. She just decided one day she had had enough. Her life was spiraling out of control.
There is hope for your son. I pray for all of our SR kids and parents. I will add you to my list.
Hugs................Lo

I'm glad you decided to post. My first post was of desperation
and fear. That was in 2005. Today, I'm a changed person.
Most of the time. lol
My son will be 27 in November. He is bipolar and spent years
with self-medication. Heroin, also, being his doc.
He hasn't used heroin in almost 3 years. I thank God and soberrecovery
for helping me through that horrific time.
Keep coming back.
Sending prayers up for your family and special prayers for your as.
Hugs from one mom to another.
