Not quite ready to post yet but I sense I have found the best place to be and I'm reading incessantly. I am the mom of a 29 year old who has been abusing drugs for about 10 years or more. She has just moved in and has been in recovery 90 days. I'm extremely proud of her but the daily grind is incredible. Sharing a small apartment at my age is a challenge. So it's one day at a time..........
Wow...kudos for her and best wishes to you both.
When I was younger I always figured it wasn't a big deal if I had to move back in with my mom. But now as a parent of 2 adult children, my 20 yo daughter in recovery and living at home, it's a bigger deal than I imagined. Everything I thought I knew about myself and life has been challenged.

Welcome Gabrielle-
there are lots of parents that post here and share experience, strength and hope.
I am glad you will be among us. Since you have been through addiction for 10 yrs. with your daughter you know the depth of the agony and the need to learn to live our lives well no matter our child's choices.
I understand having a grown recoverinig adult child back at home has challenges.
Your daughter is lucky to have you to give her the opportunity.
Hopefully you are staying out of her recovery and trying to manage it, because that will only make you both miserable.

Welcome!!!! I'm glad you are here and reading and sharing. I found Naranon meetings also a huge help...so much face to face support and folks who understand because they have or are experiencing the same things. If there is no Naranon in your area Alanon is great too. The focus is on us so the drug of choice really doesn't matter.
Congrats on your daughter's 90 days...that's wonderful!!

Welcome, GabrielleF.
Another mother of an addicted child, my 24 year old son. I "linked" my way here to SR in December and have since realized that it had to be my higher power's hand that led me to such a great resource with powerful wisdom and loving support. I hope you feel as "at home" as I do in the coming weeks and months!

Welcome,
Another mother here of TWO addicted children.
You have "stumbled upon" a wonderful and peaceful place, that is filled with so much knowledge and warmth.
My RAD has 90 days sober, and is living in a halfway house for the last 2.5 months. I am very proud of her, but I know that her sobriety is HER responsibility, not the mamma's .......
My AS is still "out there".
Welcome,
Colleen
