Daughter in ER tonight
I got a call from my AD's BF that she "disappeared" for a couple of days earlier in the week and she's been vomitting and having diarrhea ever since she came back (5 days). So I advised that he take her to the ER (actually I said, 'Please, take her to the hospital where she's got a charity care card, cause I'm sick and tired of getting collection agency calls and letters at my house for all her previous medical bills '- but that's another story LOL).
I spoke to her around 11 pm and she was getting her 2nd bag of IV fluids (she was severly dehydrated) and was waiting for some more lab work to come back. Of course, I "reminded" her to tell them about the urinary tract infection she's had since before Christmas - and to call me tonight and let me know what happened (of course, she didn't)
But I'm doing OK overall (just one panicky moment when I thought, "What if its e-coli?? What if its acute hepatitis?? What if they send her home when they should admit her??" But honestly, it was like less than a minute of panic and I just let it go.
I didn't even say, "If you were clean and taking care of yourself you wouldn't be so sick - blah, blah, blah".
Your prayers would still be appreciated, though! Thanks.

Sending prayers for your daughter's health.
Hope she was honest and forthright with the doctor.
Ya never know what they'll say to an m.d.
An extra prayer added for you. Your doin' great,
btw.

Sending prayers for your daughter that it is not anything serious. My daughter let a UTI go too long and it went into her kidneys. Did she go to the doctor? No, she just borrowed some Cipro from a friend. Arrr Hugs, Marle
Prayers for your daughter.
One added note...this "Flu" bug is really going around where I live, (Ohio) alot of people are coming down with vomiting, and diarrhea...left and right, or would that be Top and Bottom...
(So far it missed me......)
So, hopefully it's just the nasty flu, and she'll be okay in a couple of days...

Glad she's in the hosp. Like Marle's daughter I had a uti end up in my kidney's and I almost died from it. I had no idea I even had one though. Glad she's in there.
Saying lots of prayers.

I spoke to her BF today. He said, after the 2nd bag of fluids they sent her home. The lab work was Ok, according to him and so she didn't go home with any antibiotic - the doctor said "there is no indication in this lab work of a urinary tract infection". She was sleepying when I called, but BF said she had held down the food she ate but was still feeling nauseous. She was going to work at the strip club tonight (crack and heroin really gives one a work ethic, I guess). I'll try to get a hold of her today after I wake up (I'm working the night shift here myself - though as a nurse, not as a stripper!)
Thanks every body for your prayers. Hopefully it was just a persistent stomach 'bug' and is resolving. I don't know what her urinary symptoms are about if nothing showed up in the lab work.

Glad to hear that your daughter is prob. okay.
Glad to hear that you are okay too, with all that is going on with her.
It must be hard watching her be so destructive to her body, espec. w/ you being a nurse. (((((sleepygoat)))))

You are in my prayers. I wish my husband would get sick enough to go to a hosptial then at least I would have peace of mind knowing where he is. I know that sounds horrible, but I am at that point
(((Sleepygoat)))) I am glad it was nothing more serious. LostandHurt echos my own thoughts - at least in a hospital, rehab or jail, they are safer than on the street. I am sorry for the pain this causes you, but grateful for your growth in recovery... it shows.
